After the introduction of new regulations related to COVID-19, the situation of foreigners working in Poland as part of a temporary stay has stabilized. In large Lower Silesian production plants located in special economic zones, employees from Ukraine and Belarus are still willingly employed. The key to success for both parties are specialized employment agencies.
According to data from the Office for Foreigners, at the end of the first quarter of this year, over 440,000 foreigners worked legally in our country. Lower Silesia, Mazovia and Małopolska remain the most attractive regions for foreigners who work and live here. The coronavirus epidemic has somewhat slowed down the steady upward trend in employing specialists from beyond Poland’s eastern border. A small part of foreigners, after the introduction of restrictions related to the epidemiological situation, decided to return to their home countries. However, the vast majority of people who have lived in Poland for many years and most often associate their future with our country still work for us.
– We have signed employee leasing agreements with large production plants located in special economic zones. The specialists we recruit are valued employees. They have the qualifications required by law and high skills, but above all, they are reliable professionals who respect work.
admits Jakub Arnold, president of Industry Montage
Thanks to the introduction of special solutions for foreigners, an automatic path to extend the temporary stay until the end of the epidemiological situation in Poland has been enabled. This stabilized the situation of foreign workers and allowed employers to maintain jobs for employed specialists from Ukraine and Belarus.
– It is currently difficult to assess what the final impact of the pandemic will be on the Polish economy. Will unemployment increase, will Poles look more kindly at sectors where previously – often due to the amount of wages offered – only foreigners worked, or will neighbors from the East still be willing to come to Poland to work? Will the regulations change? We do not know. However, as a specialized employee leasing agency, we observe that the employee’s country of origin is of little importance to Polish employers. Skills, reliability and reliability are important. Moreover, employees from Belarus and Ukraine, because that is where we recruit specialists sought in Poland, feel good in Poland. Many HRLeasing.pl employees want to settle in our country permanently, some have already brought their families. They feel connected to Poland, they want to live and work here, he adds.

Research conducted at the end of March shows that over 80% of Ukrainians working in Poland want to stay here.
